Scottish SPCA

The Scottish SPCA is Scotland’s national animal welfare charity. They rescue every type of animal, including domestic pets, wildlife, farm animals, equines and exotic animals.

The Scottish SPCA is Scotland’s national animal welfare charity. They rescue every type of animal, including domestic pets, wildlife, farm animals, equines and exotic animals.
They are unique among all animal welfare organisations and charities in the UK in being a reporting agency to The Crown. This means that their inspectors are authorised to enforce animal welfare legislation and report cruelty cases directly to the procurator fiscal service.

Preventing cruelty is at the heart of their work and last year they were incredibly proud to reach more than 320,000 children through their Prevention through Education programme, which was offer free of charge to Scottish schools to encourage children to treat animals with the care and respect they deserve.

We work extremely hard to find new homes for abused, abandoned and unwanted animals and we are also very proud of our policy not to put healthy animals to sleep. Today, tens of thousands of animals around Scotland are now in loving new homes thanks to our dedicated rehoming staff and vets – and of course thanks to our kind supporters.

The Scottish SPCA is completely separate from the RSPCA, which helps animals in England and Wales. All of our vital work depends on donations from animal lovers in Scotland as we receive no government or lottery funding.
Donations are vital because we receive no government or lottery funding. Please help defenceless animals in Scotland by making a donation today.
