Bobath Scotland provides specialist therapy for children and adults living with cerebral palsy to help them make the most of their abilities and fulfil their potential.
What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral Palsy is a lifelong condition caused by damage in the brain before, during or after birth. Each year 1 in 500 hundred children in Scotland are diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The condition affects muscle control and movement. Everyday actions like walking, talking, swallowing and even sitting up can be seriously affected or impossible.
About Bobath Scotland:
Bobath Scotland works with around 125 families each year from our specialist therapy centre based in Glasgow– the only one of its kind in Scotland. Bobath therapy combines the expertise of physio, occupational and speech & language therapy into a single holistic approach.
Everything they do is centred on the needs and goals of the person and their family. Whether someone wants to be able to put their splints on independently or a mum needs help to get her child to sleep through the night, they’ll do everything we can to make it possible.
